4Very tight to wall and very sturdy.  Jun 09, 2010
Well engineered. Depends on very long "hex" (Allen) wrench to secure TV to bracket. Upside is no one will take your flat screen unless they take the wall, too. Downside is when you have to take TV off mount to add a cable. Don't lose that especially long Allen wrench or your will be taking down the wall. Alternatively, hang TV onto bracket and do not secure it with long hex wrench. It will work fine and your children will not curse you when they can't figure out how to get the TV off the mount. (Ok, I taped the wrench and instruction to the mount behind the TV and have taught my 10 year old how to read.)

5this mount rocks for plasmas  Jan 01, 2010
Just got mine today and the TV was on the wall in an hour. It's really a nice mount and is ideal for heavy plasma TV's with large VESA patterns (like my 42" Samsung plasma from a couple years back). I love how tight it is to the wall, all in all i could not be much happier right now.

4A Simple & Effective Low-Profile Mount  Nov 24, 2009
This mount is simple and does its job.

I can't compare to other mounts since this is my first 40"+ two-stud mount I've owned. However, in general, I think the engineering that goes into TV mounts is slim-to-none, and this just so happens to be the best of them.

The good:

The metal wall mount and TV brackets feel solid and sturdy. Peerless includes a whole array of bolts, spacers, and washers. They also include two styles of TV brackets, one for an "ultra" low 1.75" inch and another that is something like 2.5" inches. This is the standoff from the wall, so it is nice that they give you the option. Keep in mind you might need some fancy hdmi cable with a 90 degree bend in the connector if you go with a 1.75" inch standoff. Once the mount is attached to the wall, you simply hang the TV on it; it is straight forward.

The semi-bad:

I have a Samsung LN46A650. Peerless included 16mm, 25mm, and 40mm M8 bolts. I chose to use the spacers on the TV brackets to keep them from scratching the back of my TV. With the spacers, the 25mm bolts were too short to safely secure the brackets to the TV. The 40mm M8 bolts were too long to keep the TV brackets from shifting up and down (they couldn't be tightened completely). That being said, I had to cut the bolts down to 33-35mm and only then did they tighten the brackets to the TV completely. Moreover, the instructions mention that you need two studs 16" apart, but they don't list a maximum distance (or I missed it in the instructions). The reason I cared is that the wall mount is actually long enough that you can attach it to two studs 32" apart. I called technical support and they clarified that it should be a maximum of 24". Lastly, Peerless includes a very long Allen wrench to secure the bottom half of the TV brackets to the wall mount. The problem is that the Allen wrench has a nice long 6" bend for leverage purposes. However, because this is a low-profile mount, you really end up just turning the wrench until that 6" bend hits the wall, and then you have to take the wrench out and meticulously turn the screw. The engineering department should have realized this in testing and supplied an Allen wrench that had a 1 or 2" bend at most. You don't need a lot of leverage; the point isn't to tighten it down, but just to screw it in far enough that you can't pull the bottom of the TV towards you on accident.

Summary:

Affordable and simple. Some engineering oversights add a little frustration, but I can live with it.

5Great product  Nov 01, 2009
Great Product--had all the hardware needed for every type of installation. I had looked locally for this type of mount and the prices were outrageous so i took a chance and bought off amazon and i do not regret it at all 5 stars for this product.
