These batteries are a big disappointment. Use four for my digital camera and were only good for 100 snapshots. Should have lasted for at lease 250. All I got for my trouble is an "I told you so" from the wife, since I did not get Duracell's.

Some of the batteries die out ouick but it was at a very good price for 20 pack

These batteries have only a 3-year stated shelf life, as opposed to the more common 6-year shelf life for alkalines. This is probably old stock.

These Maxell AAs look like batteries and work like batteries. As near as I can tell, they *are* batteries. And they were cheap when I bought them, so kudos to Amazon.

Cheap is good for expendables and all alkaline batteries perform pretty much the same, regardless of how much the manufacturer spends on advertising to convince you otherwise.

No issue with "best by" date; don't know how "fresh" they were but "best by" date at least 2-3 years in the future and I go through them faster than that.

I don't know about you, but I 1) hate to pay for shipping and 2) always need batteries. So here's my tip:

Whenever I'm a few dollars short of "Free Super Saver Shipping" on Amazon, I toss in a pack of batteries like these (which are great). The price is right, it saves me the shipping, and it's a wonderful thing to have batteries "on hand" all the time.
