Fuji S9100 Camera Feb 24, 2010 This camera has done wonders for me,I've been able to make a reputation from the results of the performance of this camera. Was saddened that it got destroyed during a storm, really satisfied with the overall features of this camera.

Terrible camera - sell yours to me Aug 27, 2009 Oh, you didn't want to buy this camera. Its 28mm wide-angle is way too useful for you; you want one of those 14x zooms on a Canon or Nikon that doesn't have a true wide-angle setting (maybe only going out to 35mm). And the pictures are way too sharp for your needs. Let's not forget about how terrible it is to have a useful histogram in the viewfinder/LCD. And the standard AA batteries you can find even at the 7-11 (if the rechargeables you bought run out of juice). Did you know you can get an adapter that lets you use SDHC cards in the CF card slot? Of course you didn't, and even if you did, that would be too useful.
So if you've already bought one of these, I'm sorry for you and you can try to find me so I can buy it from you cheap, okay? I can always use a spare.

Great Prosumer Camera May 31, 2009 This is my first digital camera - I had been using a film prosumer camera, and decided to switch after the film camera finally conked off. While there are many point and shoot cameras out in the market that are much more compact and stylish than this camera, they cannot beat this camera in terms of image quality and functions. The manual zoom is a great selling point for me, as its usage of AA batteries (I usually take pictures while travelling, and AA batteries can be found just about anywhere). The main issues I have with this camera is the lack of image stabilisation, and it is extremely difficult to get good pictures in low light or at night. Nonetheless, it is an excellant travel camera - in daylight it takes very decent pictures that surpasses what point-and-shoots can achieve, and its zoom lens of 24 mm to 300mm cannot be beat by DSLRs, which usually require at least 2 lens to get the same range, i.e. more things to lug around. It is also probably a good camera to get (given the price) to test out to see if you have sufficient interest in photography to upgrade to a proper DSLR.

RETURNED IT... LCD/Viewfinder are inadequate May 08, 2009 For non-DSLR goodness, just buy the Sony Alpha or R1 family cameras. I like Fujicons a great bit too, so this unit just offended me. The Fuji 10+ digital point-n-clicks are great values. Do still consider these for small jobs.

Sweeet Mar 25, 2009 Works better for me than any of the reviews said. I am not great photog but this takes great pictures and is very versatile. The batteries last through a lot of shoots.
